Washing Machine Drive Motor, 1/3 HP.
Whirlpool manufactures products under various brands, including Whirlpool, Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Roper, and Admiral. Additionally, Whirlpool produces items for Sears-Kenmore and Ikea. This washer drive motor is essential for powering the spin cycle of washing machines. If your machine stops spinning or washing, the drive motor might be the culprit, especially if the control panel buttons remain responsive. A burning smell from the washer can also indicate a motor issue. To diagnose the problem, use a voltage meter.
Before starting any repairs, ensure the washer is unplugged and the water supply is turned off. Drain any remaining water from the machine into a bucket. Remove the screws at the base of the front panel and at the top of the back panel. This will allow you to remove the top console. Next, remove the screws at the bottom outside corners of the back panel to separate the base. Detach the metal clips that connect the pump to the motor. Unplug the motor and capacitor connections. Unscrew the motor and slide it out. To install the new motor, follow these steps in reverse order.
This Whirlpool washer drive motor is an authentic OEM replacement part sourced directly from Whirlpool. It is compatible with both Whirlpool and Kenmore appliances. No additional parts are included with this item.
