Washing Machine Inner Tub Drive System with Bearing.
GE products, including Hotpoint, General Electric, and Sears-Kenmore, offer this genuine OEM part sold individually. It is a transmission assembly for washing machines. The transmission assembly, a key component in the washing machine's motor, enables the machine to operate at various speeds and intensities. If your washing machine is not spinning correctly or has reduced washing power, the transmission assembly may need replacement. Replacing this part is manageable with the right steps.
To replace the transmission assembly, first, disconnect the washing machine from the power source. Remove the upper control panel by pulling forward on the bottom of the console and detaching the two retaining clips and the harness connector to the lid switch. Use a flathead screwdriver to remove the clips. Next, take off the entire cabinet from the back panel to access the washer's interior. Remove the 7/16 bolt from the agitator and lift it off the shaft. Then, access the motor and pump by releasing the screws and tabs that hold them in place. Detach the wire harness from the transmission. Remove the bolts securing the motor mount to the transmission and pull out the old transmission. Install the new transmission and reassemble the parts.
This replacement part is compatible with General Electric, RCA, and Hotpoint brand washers.
