Dryer Felt Seal

Whirlpool manufactures a range of products under various brands, including Whirlpool, Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Roper, and Admiral. They also produce items for Sears-Kenmore and Ikea. The drum felt seal in dryers helps the drum move smoothly with minimal friction. If your dryer is making noises, not tumbling, taking too long to dry, not producing enough heat, or not heating at all, replacing the felt seal might resolve these issues.

To replace the felt seal, start by removing the dryer's front panel and taking out the drum. Then, unscrew the old drum support wheels, following the manufacturer's instructions. To attach the retaining clips, place them in front of the wheel shaft and clamp down as you snap them in. This part can be used for both the front and rear seals in some models. Always unplug your dryer before starting this project. Adhesive is sold separately and can be ordered using part number WPY055980.
