Short answerGE, GE Profile, Café and Hotpoint use the same GE Appliances controls, so the codes below apply to all four. GE says codes vary by model and its pages cover only the most common ones — check your Owner's Manual if your code isn't listed. Most GE oven F-codes clear by pressing CLEAR/OFF and letting the oven cool for an hour.
How to clear a GE code
- Oven: press CLEAR/OFF, let the oven cool for 1 hour, then use it again. If the code repeats, switch off power and call for service.
- Dishwasher: breaker off about 30 seconds, then reset.
- Washer: shut off the breaker or unplug for 2 minutes. Top-load lid lock: press Start/Pause, then unplug for 1 minute.
- Refrigerator: unplug for 30 seconds — this also exits diagnostic mode after a service visit.
