Does this part fit my model?
The Dryer Timer Assembly is designed for 60 Hz operation and controls essential functions in your dryer. Whirlpool produces a range of brands, including Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Roper, and Admiral. Additionally, they manufacture products for Sears-Kenmore and Ikea.

In electric dryers, if you notice that the timer advances during the timed dry cycle but not in the automatic moisture sensing cycle, disconnect the dryer and use a multimeter to test the resistor's continuity. The orange wire links the resistor to the timer. If there is infinite resistance, replace the resistor with part number 279872. Should the timer still fail to progress in the moisture sensing cycle after replacing the resistor, consider installing a new timer, part number WP3976575.

The timer WP3976575 is specific to dryers and manages the electrical systems and cycle durations. It is interchangeable with part number AP6009024 and replaces previous numbers such as 3976575, 3406014, 548374, and PS11742166.
