Dryer Drive Motor
Whirlpool manufactures several brands, including Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Roper, and Admiral. They also produce items for Sears-Kenmore and Ikea. This replacement part is a drive motor for dryers. The drive motor is essential for the rotation of the dryer drum. If the drum stops spinning correctly, it may be time to replace the motor. Fortunately, this can be done with relative ease.
To replace the drive motor, start by unplugging the dryer. Remove the screws securing the front panel and take it off. Next, lift the top panel above the drum to a vertical position. Disconnect the wires from the moisture sensors by pressing down on the locking tab with a screwdriver. Remove the drum to access the drive motor. Use a socket wrench to detach the blower wheel from the motor assembly. Unthread the mounting screws to remove the old drive motor. Install the new motor and reassemble the dryer.
This original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement part is sold individually. It is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore dryers.
