Whirlpool manufactures products under several brands, including Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Magic Chef, Roper, and Admiral. Additionally, Whirlpool produces items for Sears-Kenmore and Ikea. The Whirlpool detergent dispenser is an OEM replacement specifically for Whirlpool dishwashers. It is situated on the inner door panel of the dishwasher and is designed to hold and release detergent or dishwasher pods at the correct time during the wash cycle. As the machine runs, water enters the dispenser, dissolving the detergent, which is then released into the wash water when the dispenser door opens.

The Whirlpool dispenser is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.
