Washing machine problems tend to fall into a few clear categories: it won't drain, it won't spin, it leaks, or it throws an error code and stops mid-cycle. We carry replacement parts for both front-load and top-load machines — drain pumps, door boots and bellows, agitators and agitator dogs, control boards, drive belts, and door latch assemblies.
Front-Load vs. Top-Load Failure Points
Front-load washers are especially prone to door boot failures — small tears near the bottom let water escape and eventually trip an error code rather than causing an obvious leak, so if you're getting intermittent leak codes, check the boot before assuming it's the pump. Top-load machines wear out agitator dogs and drive belts more often, especially in households doing heavy-duty or daily loads. Both styles commonly need drain pump replacements when a cycle ends with standing water still in the tub.
Ordering the Right Control Board
Look up your model number before ordering: washer control boards in particular vary by both model and sometimes by production date within the same model, so matching on model number alone can still get you the wrong revision. If you're not sure which board revision you have, the part number printed directly on the old board is the most reliable way to confirm.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Q: My washer stops mid-cycle and shows an error code. Is that the control board?
- A: Not necessarily — door latch and lid switch failures produce very similar symptoms, since most washers won't continue a cycle unless the door is confirmed locked. Check the latch/switch assembly first, since it's a cheaper and more common failure than the board.
- Q: What's the difference between a drive belt and a drum belt?
- A: On most top-load washers, these refer to the same part — the belt connecting the motor to the transmission or drum. Front-load washers typically use a single belt as well, but the part number is specific to the machine, so match by model number rather than by belt size alone.
